Every path is set out with string lines, formed to a consistent width and poured with cross fall so water sheds to the garden rather than sitting on the surface. On the coast’s sandy blocks the base is compacted to stop the slow sink that makes old paths uneven; on hinterland clay the jointing does the work of managing seasonal movement.
Finishes
